The B&B

Our property has a history that spans over 150 years, dating back to a time when St. Martins was the second-largest producer of wooden sailing vessels in New Brunswick. According to the Quaco Museum, over 500 vessels were built and launched from here between 1803 and 1900.

The original family home on the property was built in 1856 by Captain John Carson, later destroyed by the Great Fire of 1900 that swept through St. Martins. Captain Carson rebuilt the house on the same foundation in 1901 where it still proudly stands.

We’ve taken the reigns from the previous owner, Mike, who after many years in hospitality, is now happily enjoying his retirement from Salmon River B&B and Fiori’s Restaurant.

Now starting a new chapter as BayBaie B&B, we’re honoured to continue the legacy of this heritage home and fixture of the St. Martins landscape while giving it a breath of fresh air through light,  bright decor and refreshing room updates.

You can expect an authentic, charming and comfortable experience with us from check-in to check-out and from floor to ceiling.
